About us

Dr. Peter Hajnal
Managing Director

Peter Hajnal studied mathematics, computer science, and philosophy in Hungary, Canada, and the United States. He earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Columbia University in the City of New York, where he was a President’s Fellow in 1998. He also completed the Harvard Graduate Seminar for New Presidents in 2008. From 2010 onward, he served as General Manager and Co-Dean of College and Academic Affairs at the European College of Liberal Arts, Berlin, alongside Thomas Norgaard. Together, they led the development of a four-year BA program in Value Studies and oversaw the initial phase of the college’s accreditation by the Berlin Academic Senate for Education in 2011. In 2022, Peter founded the Center for Liberal Arts, Aesthetic Education, and the Environment gGmbH as a non-profit organization. He is currently working on a book on aesthetic education.
